The cheapest way into Spiritmaster PvP: the pieces a fresh 45 already wears, rerolled for Status Effect Resist, the Earth Spirit left out to fight, Soul's Cry at 13 and Command: Proxy for their burst.
A Spiritmaster does not win a duel by out-hitting anyone. You win by still standing when their burst is over, with your fear and your spirit's damage adding up on them the whole time. That needs very little gear. This version is the story orb, Bakarma and Liberator jewellery you already own, rerolled so their stuns hold you for less, plus the Rare Fierce Battle Amulet for 10% PvP damage.
Each skill preset keeps its own skill and stigma levels, so set this up on a second preset and leave your PvE one alone. A preset cannot be swapped while a stigma is on cooldown, so switch before the fight, not in it.
| Skill | On the PvE preset | Here | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | 3 | It only hits a staggered target, and players do not stagger | |
| 2 | 13 | Fear on 70% of hits against players, a root, and a 35-second cooldown | |
| 4 | 14 | The spirit you fight with, so it needs the levels and the tougher pick | |
| 3 | 16 | Status Effect Resist, and 44% of your HP back once a minute when you drop to 10% | |
| Stigmas | Flame Blessing, Corrode | Both swaps answer something a player does to you |
The macro's spirit line is
Elemental Fusion at the bottom, then
Summon: Water Spirit,
Summon: Fire Spirit and
Summon: Earth Spirit on top. The last spirit summoned is the one that stays, so here the Earth Spirit is left beside you instead of the Fire Spirit. Its skill has a 30% chance to taunt a player for 2 seconds, and while it is out
Jointstrike: Curse also lowers the target's Status Effect Resist by 10%. That is why your fear lands more often after a Curse than before it.
| Their move | What to do |
|---|---|
| Assassin's Shadowstrike out of stealth | It stuns you for 3 seconds. Defiance at once, then Proxy |
| Gladiator's Tenaciousness, Cleric's Salvation | A few seconds immune to everything. Do not throw Soul's Cry into it; Seize Magic can take both off |
| Sorcerer's Frost | Defiance frees you from it, and Proxy covers the hits that follow |
| Templar's Noble Armor, Chanter's Guardian Blessing | These cannot be stripped. Keep Seize Magic for the next buff |
| Stigma | Level | In a fight |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | A second spirit for 30 seconds and Four Elements on demand | |
| 5 | PvP damage and tolerance for you and your spirit, 10% of your HP back on cast | |
| 5 | 6 seconds of your spirit taking hits for you | |
| 5 | Up to three buffs gone from up to four players |
Every armour piece rolls Status Effect Resist, which decides how long their opener keeps you locked, with HP and Accuracy or Critical Hit Resist beside it. The last line goes to a passive:
Revitalization Contract on the helm, legs and boots takes it to 16, and
Spirit Strike and
Mental Focus take the rest. The guard rolls Status Effect Chance and Accuracy first, because a fear that misses is a wasted 35 seconds. The Abyssal manastones carry PvP Attack, PvP Critical Hit, PvP Accuracy and PvP Defense, and Heladrir's Chains on the orb can root someone who tries to run.
Brawler Wings add Status Effect Resist and Status Effect Chance while you wear them. Saint of Ereshkigal, from level 20 of Ereshkigal's Monolith, adds 4% PvP damage.
