Aion 2 classes: overall ranking

Nine classes ranked across everything the game asks of them: group PvE, the Abyss and the arenas. The tiers are the overall grades in our class records, read against the Korean patch notes through September 9. No class is graded S across everything, so this list starts at A; the per-mode lists are where the S picks are. A class in B is not a bad pick. Read why it sits there.

Placements are the author's opinion, not measured rates. Hover or press an entry for its reason.

TemplarTankThreat and mitigation are the same buttons, so one rotation holds the pack and survives it. S in PvE, B in PvP: the duel is the only place it drops.

ClericHealerThe healer every group asks for first: S in PvE. In PvP it is the first target of every fight, which keeps its overall at A.

GladiatorMelee DPSA greatsword that hits several targets at once and is sturdy for a damage dealer. A in PvP, S in Nightmare. The August 19 Korean patch reworked Ruinous Blow into a basic area attack.

AssassinMelee DPSThe top single-target burst and the best duelist in the records (S in PvP). Thin margins and a hard kit keep it from S overall.

SorcererMagic DPSA in PvE and in PvP, S in the team arena: the most even record of any damage class. The price is the thinnest armour in the game.

RangerRanged DPSLong reach and traps that keep a target at range; A in PvP and in the Abyss. Its B in PvE is what holds the overall down.

ChanterSupportGroup-wide buffs and enough damage to matter when nothing needs saving: A in PvE. Korean notes on August 19 and 26 both touched the class, so check older rotations.

BrawlerThe ninth class, added in the July 6 Korean Chapter 1 update: fist chains fuelled by Rage. A in PvP, B in PvE.

SpiritmasterSummonerFour spirits, each on a 15-second summon, take the pressure while it casts. Steady rather than decisive: B in PvE and in PvP.
