A Templar's PvP preset on Vakron and Aulamus: Doom Shield in, Executing Blade on the knockdown, a Punishment that ignores block and always crits, and Status Effect Resist on every armour piece.
A Templar doesn't win a PvP fight by out-damaging anyone. You win it by getting to the one person who matters and not letting go. Everything you have works at 4 metres, so the whole preset is about two things: closing the gap (
Doom Shield,
Shield Rush,
Poach) and keeping them there long enough for
Executing Blade and a full
Punishment to land.
This is a second skill preset, not a second set of gear. Each preset remembers its own skill and stigma levels, so the PvE build stays exactly as it is. The gear is the Vakron and Aulamus you already tank in, rerolled for players and fitted with Abyssal manastones.
Flash Rampage goes. It only hits a staggered target, and players can't be staggered. Its points go into
Survival Willpower, which is the passive that decides how long you stay stunned. Then a handful of picks swap from damage to staying alive, because in PvP the Templar who is still standing after the first burst is usually the one who wins.
| Skill | Level | Picks in this preset |
|---|---|---|
| 18 | Ignores block and evasion and always crits, and heals you for 10% of the damage | |
| 18 | Extra damage and no cooldown, the same engine as in PvE | |
| 14 | Follows a target that has used its break, and cuts its Status Effect Resist by 20% for 5 seconds | |
| 15 | Their healing drops by 60% while Debilitate is on, and the hit can't be blocked or dodged | |
| 15 | Back 10 seconds sooner, and 20% more likely to knock them down again | |
| 16 | Stuns for a second longer and comes back two seconds sooner |
| Stigma | Level | What it does for you |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | Gap closer and knockdown, resets Annihilate, +200 block for 5 seconds; every 30 seconds | |
| 15 | Every 30 seconds instead of 45; Exposed on everyone it hits, and it always crits | |
| 10 | +15% PvP Damage Tolerance for 14.5 seconds, plus 20% more block; it's a buff, so shield breakers can't touch it | |
| 10 | More max HP for two minutes on a two-minute cooldown, so it never drops, and nobody can dispel it |
That is 80 stigma points, which a Templar who has been doing their weekly content has long since collected. Executing Blade is the one to push first: at 15 it has its shorter cooldown, its Exposed and its guaranteed crit all at once.

Accuracy comes before everything else on the jewellery. A Templar that misses Shield Smite has no fight left, and players carry far more evasion than any monster. Status Effect Chance on the sword and guard is what makes your stuns and knockdowns stick through their resistance.
Survival Willpower reaches 18 here: more Status Effect Resist all the time, a little more every time you're hit while stunned, and a short burst of PvP Damage Tolerance once a minute when a stun lands on you.
Ironclad Defense sits at 17 and
Enhance Health at 18, the other two passives that matter more against players than they ever did against a boss.
| They use | What happens | Your answer |
|---|---|---|
| Gladiator Tenaciousness, Cleric Salvation, Sorcerer Hibernation | Three seconds (Hibernation five) immune to damage and control | Wait it out; don't throw Doom Shield or Punishment into it |
| Gladiator Blade Toss | Breaks shields and cuts your healing | Second Skin is a buff, not a shield, so it stays |
| Assassin Spiral Slice, Spiritmaster Seize Magic | Strip your buffs | Noble Armor can't be stripped; Second Skin can, so use it after their dispel |
| Sorcerer and Ranger keeping their distance | You can't reach them | Poach first, Doom Shield only after their jump |
The PvP board opens at 45 and runs on its own crystals, 36 from Ereshkigal's Monolith and 110 from the Abyss Shop over the season, so it takes nothing from your other four boards. This preset holds its first 23 nodes: PvP Attack, PvP Defense, PvP Accuracy and PvP crit, HP, the first PvP Damage Boost node and two Status Effect Resist nodes. None of it works against monsters, which is why the PvE build leaves it dark.
