Your first week at 45: Spiritforged Dagger, Bakarma armour from Draupnir and grey arcana, with both grey cards spent on Heart Gore until it resets on crits.

Your first week at 45

You have just hit the cap. Your weapon is the story dagger, your armour is whatever the levelling quests left you, and your stigmas sit at 5 or 10. This version is the shortest road from there to an Assassin that works, and nearly everything in it serves one number: Heart Gore at 16.

Why 16 first

Below 16, Heart Gore is a strong hit with a cooldown, and the Assassin feels slow and tied to the boss's back. At 16 every crit resets that cooldown, and the class turns from waiting for Heart Gore into crit, Heart Gore, crit, Heart Gore. Nothing else you can get in the first week does as much.

Source	Heart Gore
Skill points	10
Daevanion: one Heart Gore node on each of the four boards	+4
Grey Parchment of Vigor	+1
Grey Chalice of Vigor	+1
Total	16

What to farm, in order

Spiritforged Dagger to +10
The Diverging Paths quest reward. Enchanting never fails up to +10, so take it there first.
Draupnir for Bakarma Helm
The first expedition. It drops the whole Bakarma set; keep running it until the armour is complete.
Bakarma Guard
Draupnir's vouchers turn into a guaranteed guard, so do not gamble runs on the drop.
Ascension Bracelet to +10
Better than any quest bracelet you will see this week.
Clash Rune to +2
Cheap item level that opens the next dungeon gates.

Playing before the reset

Insignia Explosion and Quick Slice sit at 14 here. That is enough for Quick Slice to take a second off Insignia Explosion with every hit, so keep Quick Slice going between everything. Use Heart Gore whenever it is up, Insignia Explosion whenever it is ready, and fill the gaps with Savage Roar. Your only real burst is Illusive Clone: keep it for the boss, not the trash before it.

Stigmas, and what to raise first

Stigma	Level now	Next step
Illusive Clone	10	15: Exploit Weakness hits 1.5 times harder while it is up
Triniel's Dagger	10	Already at its useful step: every cooldown 10% shorter when it lands
Swift Contract	5	10: Rear Smite hits 1.5 times harder
Savage Fang	5	15: +10% PvE damage for 10 seconds

When to move on

Once the Bakarma set is at +10 and your item level passes about 1,400, Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island open. That is the Expedition version of this build.
