The top tier of the launch Expeditions: two mid-bosses who fill the floor with fire, and Kromede's Desire, whose wall maze is where most first runs end — for the Enraged Kromede weapons and accessories.
Fire Temple is the hardest of the six launch Expeditions and the one most guides send you to once your gear allows it. Kromede, a Silent Judicator who fell, was consumed by the Mirror of Desire, and what waits at the end of the temple is that desire given a body. The mid-bosses are a lesson in floor control: both leave fire behind that stays for the whole fight, so where you drop it matters more than how fast you kill. Kromede's Desire decides the run, and one mechanic in particular — the fire-wall maze — accounts for most first-time wipes.

Five players on global, where Korea ran four until July 2026. The dungeon allows solo entry, but the Conquest bosses were tuned for a full party, and the global launch build raised some bosses' stats because they were too weak for a five-player group. Bring cleanse potions, and bring stagger skills — this temple rewards a group that uses them often.
Light the Kibelisk before the mid-bosses so a wipe does not send you back to the door. The temple has four: Path of Atonement West, Path of Atonement East, Fire Corridor and Mirror Altar. Before each mid-boss room there is an optional Coolant Console; switching it on turns off the circles of fire that fall in that boss's room. It costs a few seconds and saves a lot of healing, so use both.
Rotan is in the global client data, and the DPS meter shows Conquest groups killing him, but he does not feed the end-of-run cube and the English guides do not mention him at all. Most groups skip him.
Ignus turns the floor into lava over the course of the fight, and none of it goes away.
Murute fills the room with fire mines. His danger is not one big hit but a floor that keeps shrinking until there is nowhere left to stand.

Kromede has three things that end runs: the wall maze, the clones, and on the Hard tier a sprint for a safe circle. Everything else is a frontal attack you avoid by standing behind her.
The fire-wall maze. She becomes untargetable, flies up, and walls of fire sweep across the arena. Each wall has gaps every three squares, but some gaps have a second wall right behind them, so look one row ahead before you step through. There are seven waves and every hit leaves a burn. In Conquest, fire projectiles also come in from the sides while you are threading the walls. This is the mechanic that kills first-timers; walk it slowly and late rather than fast and early.
The clones. Copies of Kromede appear, each aims a line attack at a player, then moves behind that player and fires a crescent or fan. Get behind your clone, or block or perfect-dodge the follow-up. In Conquest they arrive at 25%; on the Hard tier, from 75%. NC's Korean tip board adds that while the clones attack, a frontal thrust on everyone, a mine sweep and arrow rain can all land at once, so save your stagger skills for this window and use them together.
The bow. Arrow rain drops stunning circles under everyone, followed by three stunning landings on the player farthest away. She also fires line shots at each player, two each once she is below 25%. Her frontal sweeps and cleaves miss anyone directly behind her.
| Moment | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Frontal sweep | Wind-up toward the tank | Stand behind her |
| Arrow rain | Circles under everyone | Step out, then watch the farthest player |
| Fire-wall maze | She flies up, untargetable | Read two rows ahead; seven waves |
| Clones | Copies appear (25%, Hard from 75%) | Get behind your clone; stagger together |
| Blazing Judgment (Hard, 25%) | Group teleported to the entrance | Ignore the clones, reach the lit circle in 14 s |
| Enrage | 300 s on Conquest Hard | The kill must land first |
Median global Conquest kills, from a DPS meter's uploads, are 1:43 on Ignus, 1:51 on Murute and 4:06 on Kromede's Desire, with groups entering at around 92,000 combat power. In Exploration, Kromede falls in about 1:41.
Each Conquest clear opens an Odyle Energy Cube, and each mid-boss you killed adds its own roll to it. Kromede's cube rolls the Unique gear pool at 7.5% per run, the mid-bosses at 3.75% each. Every clear also pays a fixed 140,000 Kina, 2,000 Enhance Stones, a Soul Codex and seven Silentium. Chances below are per clear, read from a reward-cube database of the global client; treat them as approximate.

The Enraged Kromede weapons and accessories sit at item level 86, the top of the launch Expeditions. Fire Temple is paired with Ferocious Horn Den, which drops the armour of the same tier, and guides rate the two as the best Expeditions to farm.
The everyday drops are the Corrupted Judicator set, plus two pieces named for the mid-bosses:

Ignus and Murute can also drop their own souls,
Soul: Red Spark Ignus (Bound) and
Soul: Black Smoke Murute (Bound), in both modes.
Exploration is unusually generous here. Beside the Judicator armour (item level 38), its cube rolls a Unique pool of its own — 20% on Kromede, 10% on each mid-boss — that holds the Kromede weapons (item level 43). The first clear guarantees a Judicator armour piece.

Every Kromede weapon drops at the same 1.9%:
Kromede Sword,
Kromede Silver Dagger,
Kromede Longbow,
Kromede Spellbook,
Kromede Jewel,
Kromede Warhammer and
Kromede Rod beside the claymore. That makes Exploration a cheap way to arm a new character before Conquest.
