The top-tier Season 1 armour Expedition on the global servers: two mid-bosses that punish sloppy footwork, a final boss that needs the whole group to body-block for one player, and the Nuakum Unique armour set.
Ferocious Horn Den is the armour half of the hardest pair of launch Expeditions (Fire Temple is the weapon-and-accessory half), and on the global servers it holds the slowest classic boss in the game. The two mid-bosses are about not standing in things. Ferocious Horn Nuakum is different. He picks one player as prey, and the other four have to protect that player. Then at a quarter health he opens a black hole that only the targeted player can close. Groups that know who does what clear it comfortably. Groups that don't usually lose someone on the first prey mark.

Be honest with yourself about this page: the detailed English write-ups of these fights come from gold-selling and boosting sites, and the most complete description is the Korean service's community dungeon tips, much of it posted by NCSOFT itself with a may-differ-from-live note. Where the two agree, the advice below is solid. Where only one says it, the page says so.
| Mode | Character level | Item level | Odyle per cube | Party |
|---|
| Exploration | 45 | 2,100 | 40 | 1–5 |
| Conquest | 45 | 2,100 | 40 | 1–5 |
| Unlabelled third tier | 99 in the data | 2,600 | 40 | 1–5 |
Conquest entries are where the sources part ways. One database reads the global client as one Conquest reward every 8 hours, banking up to 21 and shared across all six classic Conquest dungeons, with 35 final-boss kills a week. Another reads the same client as two a day, 14 stored, 10 cube rewards a week. Both agree that a cube you leave unopened still uses up one of the ten unopened cubes each server gets per week, and that the weekly reset is on Wednesday. Exploration gives 7 rewards a week per dungeon.
The den allows solo entry, but this is the dungeon where a full five pays off. Nuakum's prey mark expects four bodies to stand in the way, and the global launch build raised several bosses' stats because they were too soft for a five-player party. Global kill data puts the median party at about 92K combat power on entry.
This walk-through is from Korean community guides, so the room names are translated.
Killing both mid-bosses adds their cubes to the end-of-run reward, so nobody skips them.
Korean sources call him Hellhound Kuhapu; the global client says Watchdog Kwapo.
Duanka's fight is mostly ground circles plus summons that grow worse the longer they live.
This is the fight people come back for, and it is a team fight. Your damage meter matters less than the people standing in the right place for the prey mark.
Blue Light of Destruction. He summons blue orbs of condensed energy and fires at players. Korea fixed two exploits here: running more than 40 metres away no longer stops the projectiles, and damage-reflect skills no longer pop the energy orbs. Deal with it head-on.
The prey mark. He calls out that his prey has been chosen. One player gets rooted and shadow clones appear around the room, then charge the rooted player. The other four stand between the clones and the target to block them. The English guides add a useful detail: when the circle under the target is small, two players stack in front and one more intercepts. When it is large, each player takes a clone alone without stacking. The slam after the mark comes three times. A Korean bug that sometimes made it four was fixed in January 2026.
Triple charge and cleaves. Between marks he charges three times and swings hard at the front. The tank keeps him pointed away, and everyone else stays out of the line.
Bleeding ground. Pools that the English guides say to drop at the edges of the arena. Keep the middle clean for the prey mark.
25% — the black hole. A black hole opens and one player is targeted by three fireballs. That player stands so the black hole sits between them and Nuakum, and the fireballs hit the hole instead. Three hits close it. Everyone else stays out of the line.
Red hands. When his hands glow red, two heavy hits follow. The English guides describe a red orb over a player that teammates intercept by standing between it and the boss. Treat both as the same warning: someone takes it on purpose, and it's not the healer.
| Moment | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Light of Destruction | Blue orbs, projectiles at players | Spread a little, heal through; distance won't save you |
| Prey mark | One player rooted, shadow clones appear | The other four body-block the clones' path |
| Triple charge | Wind-up facing a player | Sidestep three times; stay off the line |
| Bleeding ground | Pools under players | Drop them at the edge, not in the middle |
| 25% | Black hole, one player marked by fireballs | Target puts the hole between them and Nuakum |
| Red hands | Hands glow red | Two big hits: tank or interceptor takes them, others clear |
Korea also fixed a bug in March 2026 that sometimes made Nuakum immune to damage while staggered. If your group stops dealing damage during a stagger on global, you have hit the same bug.
On the global servers the median Conquest kill, read from a DPS meter's uploads, is 4:19 on Nuakum, 1:55 on Kwapo and 1:54 on Duanka. Nuakum is the slowest boss of the six classic Expeditions. A mark that goes wrong costs more time than a weak damage dealer.
The den is an armour dungeon. Its Conquest partner Fire Temple drops weapons and accessories, and the two sit at the same item level (86 for the gear). Every clear pays a cube per boss killed. On global, Nuakum's own cube rolls the Unique pool at 7.5%, and each mid-boss cube at 3.75%. Added up, a full clear has roughly a 15% chance of one Nuakum piece. That is lower than Taiwan's 10% on the final boss. Korea ran 7.5% too until December 2025, when it raised it. The chances below are per clear and come from the client's reward-cube tables, so treat them as approximate.

The Nuakum set is the reason to farm here: Unique armour at the top tier of Season 1, for every slot from helm to boots plus a guard. Wrathful Ego is the draconic crafting material of this tier, and the global test showed these materials dropping unbound and tradeable, so it's worth something even when your armour doesn't drop. Guides rank the den and Fire Temple as the two best Conquests to farm.
The Black Claw set and the Fera necklace fill your other slots while you wait for Nuakum pieces:

Black Claw weapons drop for every class at about 11.4% each. Every clear adds Kina, Enhance Stones, Silentium and a Soul Codex on top.
Exploration costs the same 40 Odyle and rolls the Nuakum pieces at the same rates as Conquest. Korea set it up that way in April 2026, and the global tables match. What you lose is the crafting materials, the Amplify Stone fragments and the wings.

The unlabelled 2,600 tier pays the same Nuakum pool. It swaps Balaur's Essence for Durable Balaur Scale, Leather and Horn (43.3% each), raises Wrathful Ego to 5.9%, and adds
Dark Veil Wing Featherdown (Bound). After 28 clears it guarantees a Nuakum piece plus a
Sync Stone (Unique) (Bound) instead of the voucher.
