One of the two Transcendence dungeons on the global servers and half of the launch leaderboard: four stages, a kill quota that gates the final boss, and Atiel, whose floor falls away under anyone in the wrong place.
Deus Research Base is a Transcendence dungeon, so it works differently from an Expedition. You pick a stage, and each one is harder and pays better Arcana. The final boss does not open until the group has filled a kill quota. Your time and your deaths count toward a class leaderboard. Gelcos and Nazmun are fair fights that teach you to move. Atiel is the run. She chains players together, roots one for a hit the group has to share, and twice breaks the outer floor away. Anyone who falls is out of the fight with no resurrection. Every wipe here comes from forgetting where the edge is.
On the global servers it launched alongside Shattered Arkanis, and those two are the only dungeons in NCSOFT's launch Transcendence leaderboard.

From 5 October to 2 November 2026 (30 September on the Advanced Access servers), clearing Deus Research Base or Shattered Arkanis earns Rank Points. You can check them under ESC > Transcendence > Rank > Class. Rankings are per server and per class, so you compete with your own class on your own server. NCSOFT announces the top rankers on 9 November and mails rewards by 16 November.
| Placement | Rewards |
|---|---|
| Top 10 | 35,000 Enhance Stones, 30 Amplify Stone (Unique), 1 Philosopher's Stone: Revelation, 5 Soul Codex Reset, 20 Resurrection Spirit Stone (Bound) |
| 11–50 | 12,000 Enhance Stones, 15 Amplify Stone (Unique), 3 Soul Codex Reset, 10 Resurrection Spirit Stone (Bound) |
This walk-through comes from Korean community guides.
The quota in Korea was 110 points at its old stages 1–3, 130 at 4–6 and 150 at 7–10. A normal enemy gives 2 points. A boosting-site guide (unconfirmed) logged 45 for each mid-boss on a Korean stage 1 run, which on its own leaves 20 to make up from trash. There are four Kisks on the way (entrance, the collapsed sky island, the workshop and the top floor). Bind every one, because binding them counts toward the quota too. If you fall off the early stepping stones, walk right to an updraft that carries you back up.
In Korea each stage adds Transcendence traits on top of the bosses. Korea's ten stages mapped roughly like this:
Korean sources and the patch notes call him Guard Captain Gelkos.
Korean sources call him Lab Director Nazmun.
Atiel is the fight that decides your rank. Stay near the middle. Every mechanic in her room either pushes you outward or breaks the floor at the edge.
Chains. She tells you that you can't escape her, and two random players are chained with damage over time. The two run apart to break it. If a root lands at the same time, break the chain first. In Korea's later stages all players are chained to one player in the middle, and everyone moves away from that player.
Root and shatter. She roots one player and calls for a falling strike. Alone, it kills. Everyone else stacks in that player's circle to split the damage.
Chained to her. From Korea's stage 4 onward she chains the whole party to herself. The further away you are, the more damage the chain does, so hug the boss. A boosting-site guide (unconfirmed) describes the same thing as blue chains to Atiel.
Cataclysmic World — the floor breaks. She goes to the centre, sends knockback waves in every direction, and then the outer floor collapses. Jump or dodge the waves and stay near the middle. Falling means death, no resurrection, and no way back into the room. After the collapse, portals spawn clones. Korean sources put the two collapses at 75% and 35%. In December 2025 Korea fixed staggering her during this skill still triggering the knockback, so a stagger now cancels the push.
The last stand. At low health she announces that everything will shatter and vanish, then opens a stagger gauge with a sliced-pie area attack (NCSOFT's own tips add a four-way cone and portal attacks). The gauge has to be emptied before the cast ends, or the last of the floor goes and the group goes with it. It happens once. Hold every stagger skill for it.
| Moment | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Chains | Two players linked | The two run apart; break it before anything else |
| Root and shatter | One player rooted under a falling strike | Everyone stacks in that player's circle |
| Chained to her (higher stages) | Whole party chained to Atiel | Stay close to the boss |
| 75% and 35% | She goes to the centre, waves push outward | Jump the waves, stay central; the edge falls |
| After a collapse | Portals open, clones appear | Kill the clones, don't chase them to the edge |
| Last stand (about 20–30%) | Stagger gauge, pie-slice area attack | Everyone spends stagger skills at once |
Korea added a voice line to her root in January 2026. If you hear her call out a target, someone is about to be rooted.
On the global servers the median kill on stage 1, read from a DPS meter's uploads, is 3:47 on Atiel, 2:10 on Gelcos and 1:58 on Nazmun. On stage 3, Atiel's median rises to 4:26. Since leaderboard points scale with time, and Korea paid less after the first death, a careful clear will place better than a fast one with a death in it.
Deus Research Base pays in Arcana: Bell, Compass and Chalice cards in a Vigor or a Magic version. In Korea, Arcana raise your item level and skill levels and give set bonuses, which is why people run Transcendence every week. Each stage raises the best grade the cube can roll. On stage 1 the best Arcana is Rare. On stage 4 any one Unique Bell or Compass card drops in about one clear in six. No guaranteed-drop ceiling is listed for any stage, so this is a pure numbers game. Chances below are per clear and come from the client's reward-cube tables, so treat them as approximate.
Stage 4 is the only stage where every Arcana family can roll Unique:
| Item | Grade | Chance per run |
|---|---|---|
| Unique | 48.8% | |
| Unique | 17.8% | |
| Unique | 17.8% | |
| Unique | 17.8% | |
| Unique | 17.8% | |
| Unique | 12.1% | |
| Unique | 12.1% |
Stage 3 already has Unique Bell and Compass cards, but only at 4.9% each and with no Unique Chalice. Stage 4 makes it more than three times as likely.
The Legend Arcana are what most groups collect first. They start dropping on stage 2, and stage 4 has the best odds:
| Item | Grade | Chance per run |
|---|---|---|
| Legend | 26.0% (stage 4) | |
| Legend | 26.0% (stage 4) | |
| Legend | 26.0% (stage 4) | |
This is how the best Arcana grade climbs with each stage, chance per card:
| Stage | Bell / Compass | Chalice | Stones |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rare 4.9% | Common only | |
| 2 | Legend 4.9% | Rare 12.1% | Lesser stones 43.3% |
| 3 | Unique 4.9%, Legend 13.5% | Legend 9.1% | Lesser 35.7%, |
Every stage also drops an Amplify Stone fragment at 48.8% and gives a Soul Codex, Silentium, Kina and Enhance Stones. Move up as soon as your item level allows it. Each stage sharply improves your odds at the next Arcana grade, and Rank Points follow difficulty.
| Legend |
| 26.0% (stage 4) |
| Legend | 17.8% (stage 4) |
| Legend | 17.8% (stage 4) |
| 4 | Unique 17.8%, Legend 26.0% | Unique 12.1% | Lesser 35.7%, Intermediate 9.7% |
